Prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode, is pained over the resignation of ex-spokesman to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, from the party, describing it as a ”great lost”.
Doyin Okupe announced his resignation on Sunday, describing the party as a barren tree which cannot bear fruits.
”Undeniably, I have been one of the major beneficiaries (not financially) of the PDP. But for a fact, the PDP and the APC are political platforms that have now expired or in the process of being so,” Okupe said.
On the part of Fani-Kayode, who was the spokesman to former president Jonathan’s campaign organisation during the 2015 presidential election, said the PDP ”may lose more people soon.”
”The dumping of PDP by @doyinokupe is a big loss for our party. I spoke with him today and heard real reasons. We may lose more people soon,” Fani-Kayode tweeted.
