Luxury vehicles that will rule the auto world next year are beginning to emerge as premium brand manufacturers are gradually revealing the designs and features.

And a number of such vehicles are likely to make it to the 2015 Geneva Motor Show holding between March 5 and March 15.

The British automaker, Jaguar Land Rover, says it will unveil the 2016 version of its popular Range Rover Evoque at the international motor show, which will reveal its revised styling, new engines, new safety techniques and some cabin enhancements.

A five-paragraph statement on the new vehicle, sent by the Jaguar Land Rover of South Africa to our correspondent by email, merely announced the coming of the new Evoque; it provided no details. But the firm says a glimpse of the 2016 Range Rover Evoque will show a striking new headlamp signature for the vehicle it describes as the most successful Land Rover ever produced.

“The 2016 model year Range Rover Evoque will be the first Land Rover to feature full LED adaptive headlamps when it makes its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show on 3 March, 2015. The powerful technology provides superior illumination in dark conditions, following the curves of the road, and is identifiable by the distinctive headlamp graphic,” it notes.

It quotes the Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer, Mr. Gerry McGovern, as saying, “Our challenge has been to enhance Evoque without diluting its iconic design. The design refreshments give it an even greater presence on the road yet retain the emotional appeal that has made it so popular with more than 400,000 consumers around the world.”

Unique features

The 2016 Evoque will have a new engine line-up, new safety and convenience features, and interior enhancements all wrapped in the trademark exterior design.

Details of the new vehicle, according to Jaguar Land Rover, will be released on February 23.

According to an online auto reviewer Top Speed, the Evoque has been a resounding success for Land Rover, as the small sport utility vehicle instantly captured the hearts of the world when it was introduced.

“What exactly Land Rover is doing with the 2016 model remains a mystery,” the reviewer says.

The Evoque was introduced in 2012 to give the luxury SUV brand a secure spot in the growing compact-luxury-crossover realm.

The manufacturer made some light changes on the brand in 2014 with the introduction of a new nine-speed auto transmission.

Meanwhile, the premium brand automaker appears excited about its15 year old partnership with the Kingsley Holgate Foundation as it maps out plans to extend the mission of bringing quality life to more people across the African continent.

It recalled in another statement that Land Rover’s ambassador, Kingsley Holgate, visited nine countries in 2014, delivering basic supplies to benefit more than 60,000 people.

He was said to have given the people thirst-quenching LifeStraws, sight-saving reading glasses and mosquito-repelling nets to combat malaria.

The Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover South Africa and sub-Sahara Africa, Mr. Richard Gouverneur, “It’s fantastic to see that this 15-year-long partnership is still a success, with thousands able to benefit from Kingsley’s good work.

“It is heart-warming to see these Discovery 4 vehicles make such a difference, helping to achieve Land Rover’s global vision of advancing knowledge and improving lives.”

Specifically, Holgate was said to have delivered 4,279 LifeStraws – simple water purifiers that could filter up to 1,000 litres of water.

“By simply using a LifeStraw to sip water from any water source, thousands of people now have access to more than four million litres of water that is safe to drink,” it stated.

Holgate was also said to have aided those who struggled to see; as thousands across Africa had no access to basic healthcare, not to talk of specialist care for non-threatening ailments such as deteriorating eyesight.
