Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina state on Monday presented a budget of N211.49 billion to the State House of Assembly.
Tagged “Budget of Actualization”, it has a capital expenditure of N160 billion, representing 75.7 per cent of the total budget, while recurrent expenditure will take N51.4 billion, 24.3 per cent.
A breakdown of the budget indicates that projected Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to finance the budget was N10.2 billion and N26.2 billion from other internal sources.
Also, N131 billion will come from the Federation Account.
Interestingly, the education sector took the largest chunk of the budget with 20 per cent.
The budget also had a 30 per cent increase from the previous year’s budget.
