Suspended senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has dismissed a viral TikTok video that appeared to show her endorsing President Bola Tinubu through the use of the trending song “Omo Ologo.”

The 15-second video, which surfaced online on May 8, shows Akpoti-Uduaghan smiling at the camera while Omo Ologo — a praise song performed by Dauda ‘Rarara’ Kahutu for President Tinubu — plays in the background. The clip immediately sparked mixed reactions, with some viewers suggesting it carried political undertones.

Okay.ng reports that Omo Ologo became a cultural sensation following its performance at a May 3 dinner in Katsina State during Tinubu’s two-day visit to assess the region’s security.

The song, which blends Hausa and Yoruba, celebrates Tinubu as a resilient and victorious leader and has since been widely circulated among his supporters.

However, Akpoti-Uduaghan has disclaimed the video and its implications. Taking to her official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, the senator made it clear that the TikTok clip did not originate from her.

“Public Alert I do not own a TikTok account,” she wrote. “Many parody accounts exist in my name on X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Some have garnered large following.”

She added that the video in question was manipulated from an old clip recorded in 2023, and was being misused for political mischief.

“While I hold the President in utmost respect; I’d urge everyone to disregard the mischievous post made using an old 2023 video of mine,” she added.

The clarification comes amid heightened political sensitivity following Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension from the Senate and her ongoing tensions with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
