Nasir El-Rufai, the ex-governor of Kaduna State, has departed the country following his decision to withdraw from consideration for a ministerial role.
Okay.ng gathered that El-Rufai is embarking on a trip to Europe, with a stopover in Egypt initially.
Recently, the senate endorsed 45 out of the 48 ministerial nominees presented by President Bola Tinubu. However, El-Rufai, along with two other nominees, Stella Okotete (Delta) and Danladi Abubakar (Taraba), did not receive confirmation due to pending security clearances.
During the evaluation process, Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West, raised objections against El-Rufai. Following this, El-Rufai had a meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday. The results of the discussion were not publicly disclosed.
