The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed why its still detaining Babalele Abdullahi, the son-in-law of the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
Okay Nigeria reported on Saturday evening that operatives of the EFCC stormed the home of Babalele Abdullahi and whisked him away to their office for questioning.
Atiku cried out this morning over the continued detention of his lawyer and son-in-law, who is Abdullahi, saying they were arrested for supporting him in the just concluded presidential election.
However, Tony Orilade, Acting Spokesman of EFCC, revealed that Atiku’s son-in-law was under investigation for money laundry.
He said, “We are investigating a case of money laundering against Abdullahi.
“We shall speak at the appropriate time,” Orilade said.
