Portable, the renowned singer known for his controversial persona, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly failing to settle a debt he incurred after purchasing a G-Wagon from a car dealer.
According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the state police, Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, was apprehended on Tuesday in connection with the outstanding debt.
Confirming the arrest, Hundeyin stated, “Yes, Portable has been arrested.”
Reports indicate that the singer acquired the G-Wagon, valued at N27 million, but only paid N13 million upfront. Allegedly, Portable neglected to settle the remaining N14 million, claiming issues with the vehicle whenever the car dealer requested payment.
