Bisola Badmus, a prominent actress in the Yoruba film industry, has shared with her followers on Instagram that she has been battling a brain disease known as encephalopathy for over a year.
Encephalopathy is a term encompassing various brain diseases that can disrupt the normal functioning and structure of the brain, leading to issues such as confusion and memory loss.
The actress made this revelation on her birthday, expressing gratitude for another year of life despite the health challenges she has faced.
Badmus disclosed that the ailment had compelled her to take a hiatus from social media during the period. Additionally, she revealed the loss of her mother, making the past year even more challenging.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Badmus thanked the Almighty for her life and acknowledged the support she received from her family, friends, industry colleagues, and business associates during the trying period.
“Thank you, Lord, for another amazing year to celebrate my new age in sound health,” she expressed.
“Over a year now I have been battling with health issues (Encephalopathy). I cannot even wish my enemy such illness. It was a tough one indeed.
“That made me to stay off social media for a long while now. In between, I lost my precious mother. Unquestionable God I thank you for everything particularly for me to witness yet another birthday of mine.
“I say thank you for keeping me alive till this moment because if not for God Almighty where would I have been?
“I will be ungrateful soul if I fail to appreciate the amazing people that stood by me during the challenging period.
“My family and friends, my colleagues in the movie industry, business associates and the brands I represent. Thank you all.”
