Yahaya Bello wins re-election as Kogi governor

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has won his re-election bid as governor of the State.

Okay.ng understands that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returned Bello elected on Monday having secured the highest number of votes in the keenly contested election.

The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Ibrahim Umar, made the declaration at the INEC office in Lokoja.

Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 406,222 votes to defeat his close rival, Musa Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 189,704 votes.
