Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has shared an interesting revelation about his music-making process, Okay.ng report.
In a viral video, the ‘Essence’ hitmaker boasted that all his biggest songs, from his breakout single “Holla At Your Boy” to fan favorites like “Soco,” “Joro,” and “Ojuelegba,” were recorded while he was sitting down.
Wizkid emphasized that he doesn’t stress himself when creating hits.
“All my biggest songs from ‘Holla At Your Boy’ to ‘Soco’, ‘Joro’, ‘Ojuelegba’, I recorded them sitting down,” Wizkid said in the video. “You [P2J] know how my things be for Lagos. You’ve been in my house. You know what I do. I’m chilling. You get me, no stress.”
Wizkid, who is known for his laid-back persona, also expressed his dislike for promoting his music or granting media interviews, stating that he prefers to avoid such activities.
“You see promo, I hate doing that sht. You know press, I hate doing all that sht, bro. I know exactly what the people want,” he continued. “[Producer] P2J is the only n*gga that understands me.”
He further added, “All we have to do is turn on the mic. The amazing thing is that the world is now globalized, you don’t need anyone to lie to you.”
