Tinubu has finally spoken about why he is no longer in support of Ambode and he will not support his second term bid.

After voting at ward C, Alausa, Ikeja, Bola Tinubu said:

“It is a democracy day for us. It is even beyond me as a leader. Whatever is happening today, I have to submit myself to the party wishes.”

On whether there’s a rift between himself and the Lagos governor, Tinubu said: “I will regard that as an insult. I brought Ambode to the people. He was a civil servant under me.”

He also added that; “He performed very well as a civil servant and when he showed interest in politics after the leadership… we gave him the opportunity.”
