Ummu Iya Abubakar, Mother-in-Law of NSA Nuhu Ribadu, Dies

The family of Senator Iya Abubakar has announced the passing of Hajiya Ummu Iya Abubakar, the mother-in-law of Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, Okay.ng reports.

In a statement released on behalf of Senator Iya Abubakar, it was confirmed that Hajiya Ummu passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

“On behalf of Senator (Prof) Iya Abubakar and family, it is with a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah we announce that Hajiya Ummu Iya Abubakar (Babba) has returned to her creator in the early hours of Tuesday, 27 August 2024,” the statement read.

The family has also announced that Janaiza prayers for the deceased will be held at 1:30 pm after Zuhr prayers at the Central Mosque in Abuja. Following the prayers, she will be laid to rest at Gudu Cemetery.
