President Donald Trump has announced that the United States military has carried out airstrikes on three nuclear sites in Iran, marking a dramatic escalation in the ongoing Middle East conflict.

In a post early Sunday on his social media platform, Trump stated that the U.S. successfully struck nuclear enrichment facilities located in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, describing the mission as “very successful.”

“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan,” Trump posted. “All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. There is not another military in the world that could have done this. Now is the time for peace.”

The strikes, which signal the U.S.’s formal military involvement in Israel’s week-long campaign against Iran’s nuclear program, follow repeated warnings from Iran over foreign intervention. Trump characterized the bombing as a “historic moment” and said he would address the nation shortly.

In another message, he warned Tehran of further consequences if hostilities continue. “Iran must now agree to end this war,” Trump said. “If not, they will get hit again — harder.”

Okay.ng reports that Iranian officials have confirmed that multiple facilities were hit by the overnight strikes. According to Tasnim News Agency, Morteza Haydari, spokesperson for crisis management in Qom Province, confirmed an attack on the Fordow nuclear plant. In Isfahan, Akbar Salehi, the region’s security deputy governor, confirmed explosions near the Natanz and Isfahan nuclear complexes.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had earlier vowed “irreparable damage” to the United States should it join forces with Israel. Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian foreign ministry, previously warned that any American military engagement would lead to an “all-out war in the region.”
