Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly parted ways with his agent, Roberto Calenda, following dissatisfaction with how his recent transfer saga was handled, according to reports by Il Mattino (via TMW).
Osimhen, who was involved in a protracted transfer saga this summer, is said to be frustrated with Calenda’s handling of the situation, particularly as the agent attempted to secure a permanent move away from Napoli.
The Nigeria international’s displeasure grew to the point where he reportedly negotiated a loan move to Galatasaray on his own, without the involvement of an agent.
The 24-year-old forward was widely expected to leave Napoli before the transfer deadline, with both Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli and Premier League side Chelsea expressing interest.
However, neither deal materialized, leading to criticism of Calenda on social media, with many fans blaming him for the failed transfers.
In response to the situation, Osimhen is believed to have enlisted the help of Turkish intermediary George Gardi to facilitate negotiations with Galatasaray.
The proposed deal with the Turkish giants is a straightforward loan until the end of the season, with a break clause in January that would allow Osimhen to move to a top European club should the opportunity arise.
