Bose Omolayo has won a gold medal for Team Nigeria in the women’s -79kg powerlifting event at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

With her win, the 32-year-old sets a new Paralympic record of 141kg in the 79kg female category.

Latifat Tijani of Team Nigeria had won the first gold medal for Nigeria after defeating China’s Zhe Cui to lift 107kg in the women’s 45kg powerlifting on Thursday, August 26, 2021.
