President Bola Tinubu has postponed the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting initially scheduled for today, opting instead to hold a critical Security Council meeting at the Presidential Villa.
The decision comes amid heightened concerns over the security situation in the country.
The meeting, which began at 2:00 pm, includes key figures such as Vice President Kashim Shettima, the National Security Adviser, all Service Chiefs, the Inspector General of Police, the Comptroller Generals of Customs and Immigration, and the Chief of Staff to the President.
These officials are expected to provide President Tinubu with comprehensive briefings on the nation’s security status.
The cancellation of the FEC meeting, originally slated for the Council Chamber, was unexpected and follows President Tinubu’s recent national broadcast.
In his address, the President aimed to respond to the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests.
