Tinubu Appoints Abubakar Dantsoho as new MD of Nigerian Ports Authority

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

This announcement was made on Friday through a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

In addition to Dr. Dantsoho’s appointment, the President has appointed Senator Adedayo Adeyeye as the Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority.

Dr. Dantsoho brings a wealth of academic and professional experience to his new role. He holds a Doctorate degree in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom, and a Master’s degree in International Transport from Cardiff University of Wales, United Kingdom.

His extensive career within the NPA includes positions such as Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager of Onne Port, and Principal Manager of Tariff & Billing.

Senator Adeyeye, the newly appointed Board Chairman, is a seasoned lawyer, journalist, and politician. He has previously served as Minister of State for Works and as a Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District.

President Tinubu expects the new leadership to bring excellence to their roles, aiming for efficient port services and improved industry outcomes.
