Following yesterday’s fisticuffs at the House of Representatives, co-founder of Transparency International and the backbone of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, Oby Ezekwesili has aired her view on the show of shame by the lawmakers.
Speaking at the Social Change Summit organised by the Co-Creation Hub, Yaba, Ezekwesili explained that Nigeria is yet to set her priorities.
“The change Nigeria needs has nothing to do with the political party, instead it borders on the political class. We need to stop fighting about who gets what post as the principal officer and face our biggest problem, poverty.
“We need to be the change that we want. How can 10million Nigerians be living in abject poverty and we are fighting about what zone the principal officer should come from? The political elite have made the issue of poverty a neutral subject.”
