There was tension on Saturday in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, as the convoy of Governor Nyesom Wike came head to head with that of the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi.

Reports say the incident occurred at Nwanja junction in Trans Amadi area.

It was gathered that the incident nearly resulted in a clash between the security details of the governor and the minister.

Amaechi’s security personnel are reported to have knocked down Wike’s Escort Rider in a bid to making way for the minister.

Concise News gathered that the security operatives attached to the former minister were made up of men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in the state.

The SARS operatives, according to a Channels TV report, allegedly cocked their guns, resulting in the chief security detail to the governor physically chasing the men away.

The confrontation was said to have lasted for over 30 minutes before Wike proceeded on the inspection of some projects in the state.
