After a 68-day journey, Pelumi Nubi, a 28-year-old travel content creator, has successfully completed her solo road trip from London to Lagos. Her arrival was marked by a warm reception at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border, where she was greeted by officials representing the Lagos State Government.
Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, and Special Adviser, Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe, were among those who welcomed Nubi back home. Her journey, which commenced on January 31, took her through 17 countries, including France, Spain, Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, and several others before reaching her final destination in Lagos.

Having already visited 80 countries out of the 193 in the world, Nubi’s adventurous spirit and resilience have earned her admiration and recognition. Gboyega Akosile, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Lagos Governor, took to Twitter to extend a hero’s welcome to Nubi on behalf of the Lagos State Government.
In his tweet, Akosile expressed the government’s appreciation for Nubi’s remarkable feat, highlighting her journey as a testament to the power of determination and perseverance. The Lagos State Government’s gesture underscores the significance of Nubi’s achievement and its impact on inspiring others to pursue their dreams relentlessly.
