Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi, has opened up about the qualities that made her fall in love with her husband, fellow singer Adekunle Gold.
The revelation came as Simi praised Gold’s graphic designing and photoshopping skills, which she credits as the reason she was initially drawn to him.
The mother of one shared this insight on Saturday while commending Adekunle Gold for editing a water bottle out of a photo posted by Nigerian chess master Tunde Onakoya on X, following a request from Onakoya for the favor.
Reposting Gold’s edited version of the chess master’s photo, Simi humorously remarked, “This was why I fell for you. I don’t know who sent you to start singing.”
Before his rise to fame in the music industry, Adekunle Gold was known for his impressive photoshop skills. His talent in graphic design caught the attention of many, and he eventually became a sensation in the world of digital art. Gold’s skills also led to his association with Olamide’s record label, YBNL Nation, where he designed the label’s logo before signing on as an artist.
Adekunle Gold and Simi’s relationship blossomed over the years, leading to their marriage on January 9, 2019, in a private ceremony in Lagos.
The couple has since welcomed their first child, Adejare, in 2020.
