The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, on Monday launched the website of his office, www.osgf.gov.ng, which was upgraded at the cost of N64.8million.

Speaking in his office in Abuja, the SGF said the N64million was not only for upgrading the website but for procurement of laptops, training of officials and consultancy services.

He, however, did not mention the number of laptops procured.

“There was a contract in 2017. The figure in public domain. It is about N64m including procurement of laptops, training, consultancy services.

“The contract was awarded by the Bureau of Public Procurement in accordance with the Procurement Act,” he said.

Mr Mustapha further harped on the need for a functional website for his office, saying it would inform the public about the policy thrust of the Buhari administration.

According to him, it was important to make information on government activities readily available to Nigerians and other stakeholders because information drives investment and development worldwide.

The secretary said the upgraded e-participation platform is one of the key features of the new website.

Mr Mustapha further noted that members of the public would be free to
request for information from government and lodge complaints.

He said such requests, ideas or complaints, he explained, would elicit timely response from government.

The SGF however said the critics of the website are not enemies of the administration, adding that it was constructive criticism.

“When people criticise government , it is not that they hate government. They want government to do better and for them to see improvement,” he said.
