Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is securing a robust partnership deal with China, focusing on renewable energy, healthcare, and education.

At the 75th-anniversary celebration of China which was held on Monday at Lekki, Lagos, Sanwo-Olu praised China as a valuable partner, highlighting successful collaborations like the Lekki Deep Seaport, Lekki Free Trade Zone, and Lagos-Ibadan railway. These projects have boosted economic growth, created jobs, and improved lives for thousands of Nigerians.

Sanwo-Olu also acknowledged the Chinese community’s contributions to Lagos’ cultural diversity, citing language schools, cultural centers, and businesses. He described China’s transformation over 75 years as “extraordinary,” becoming a global leader in technology and manufacturing.

Ms Yan Yuping, Consul-General of China in Lagos, echoed Sanwo-Olu’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and friendly exchanges. She noted China’s progress, rising from a “latecomer to modernisation” to the world’s second-largest economy, eliminating absolute poverty.
