The House of Representatives has voted in favor of President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.

The approval came during a plenary session on Thursday, following the receipt of a formal letter from the president requesting the House’s endorsement of the emergency declaration in the South-South state.

According to Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, a total of 240 lawmakers were present at the session, meeting the required quorum to proceed with the vote.
