Queen Latifah Says She’s Ready to be a Mom at 44

She’s a rapper, singer, Oscar-nominated actress and former talk show host. But Queen Latifah says she’s ready to take on her most challenging role yet—that of a mother. The 44-year-old Grammy Award winner told Closer magazine on Wednesday:

‘I’m always thinking about [becoming a mother]. Hopefully one day it will be my blessing, Being a mom is probably the most unselfish thing you can do. It doesn’t matter to me whether it’s a boy or girl. I just really want to be there for them through adulthood and for the rest of their lives.’

Latifah, who is rumoured to be in a lesbian relationship with her longtime companion Eboni Nichols, didn’t specify if she would conceive naturally, or go down the route of surrogacy or adoption.
