Psy’s ‘Gangnam style’ is a South Korean pop song which took the world by storm in 2012 and the music video has now been viewed so many times with more than 2.15 billion views recorded in an unprecedented scenario that broke YouTube’s video views counter.
According to YouTube: ‘We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer (=2,147,483,647 views), but that was before we met PSY.’
YouTube said ‘Gangnam Style’ has been watched so many times they were forced to upgrade their system to a 64-bit integer. That means the next video to break YouTube will have to be viewed more than 9,223,372,036,854,775,808 times.

While 9.22 billion might seem like an impossible number to break, time keeps marching on – and ‘Gangnam Style’ is still galloping. So in five to seven years, we may be talking about Psy breaking YouTube once more.
