Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager Luis Enrique has accused winger Ousmane Dembele of showing a lack of respect, leading to his exclusion from the squad for their upcoming Champions League clash against Arsenal, Okay.ng reports.
Speaking to reporters, Enrique explained his decision to drop Dembele despite the player’s impressive form, having scored four goals this season. The omission follows a reported bust-up between the player and the coach.
“If someone doesn’t comply or respect the expectations of the team, it means they are not prepared to play,” Enrique stated. “The match is very important and I want all my players to be ready, so as a consequence I have left him [Dembele] out.”
The manager further emphasized his responsibility to ensure the best for the team, indicating that Dembele’s exclusion was a necessary decision based on team discipline.
“I want the best for my team and that is my job,” Enrique added.
