The outgoing President, Goodluck Jonathan has signed two bills which were recently passed by the National Assembly into Nigeria’s constitution.
The new Acts are the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act 2015 and the Immigration Act 2015.
The Presidential spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati, made this disclosure known to the State House correspondents on Tuesday.
If we recall, the Senate had on May 4 passed the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Bill 2015.
The Act attempts to ban female circumcision or genital mutilation, forceful ejection from home and harmful widowhood practices, among others. (NAN)
