Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is set to be the highest-paid manager in world football if he signs a new contract with the club.

The City manager is reported to have a contract extending his stay at the Etihad till 2020 on a yearly salary of £20million.

Guardiola’s current contract, which he signed in 2016, expires next summer, but is reported to be keen on staying on in his current role so as to build on the team’s success.

According to the Mirror, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager held a meeting with City owner Sheikh Mansour and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak in Abu Dhabi last month.
