The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has presented a Certificate of Return to its Ondo State governorship candidate, former Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi. The presentation was made by the Acting National Chairman of the party, Ambassador Umar Damagum, on Tuesday.

Ajayi won the PDP primary conducted on Thursday last week, and the party has expressed confidence in his ability to win the November 16, 2024, governorship election. Damagum noted that the PDP primary was conducted without any dissenting voices, unlike the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary, which was marred by controversy.

The PDP National Chairman advised Ajayi to work hard to secure the support of all stakeholders, including his fellow aspirants, to ensure victory for the party in the state. He also encouraged Ajayi to commence vigorous campaigning, including door-to-door outreach, to win the hearts of the people of Ondo State.

In his acceptance speech, Ajayi pledged to work tirelessly to secure victory in the forthcoming election and to bring about real and sustainable development for the people of Ondo State. He emphasized the need for unity and collective effort to address the challenges facing the state, including poverty, unemployment, insecurity, and economic hardship.
