The suspension of the PDP national publicity secretary, Olisa Metuh, by a faction of the party in his home state of Anambra, has been dismissed by the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party. The impeachment of the Chairman of the party in Lagos State, Olatunji Shelle, has also been nullified by the NWC.
The nullification of the suspension and impeachment was communicated in a statement by the PDP national legal adviser, Victor Kwon, after the meeting of the NWC.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the NWC reiterates that Chief Olisa Metuh is a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and as such can only be disciplined by NEC, in accordance with Sections 57(7) and 59(3) of the PDP Constitution 2012 (as Amended), and that is in the event that a need for such arises. The purported suspension is therefore a nullity,” the NWC said.
The PDP NWC said it is satisfied with Metuh’s commitment towards the progress and development of the party at all levels.
