Amidst internal party disputes and criticism, Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Umar Damagum, has declared that he cannot be intimidated into resigning.
Damagum, who has been blamed by party members for contributing to the ongoing crisis, stated that the criticisms have only increased his popularity.
Speaking at the inauguration of the National Reconciliation and Disciplinary Committees, Damagum expressed frustration with individuals spreading misinformation about the National Working Committee’s operations. He also revealed that he is considering running for the presidency due to his increased recognition.
The PDP has been grappling with internal disputes both before and after the 2023 elections, with Damagum’s leadership being a point of contention. Despite the challenges, Damagum remains defiant, saying, “The more you mention me, the more popular I become.”
