Owen Omogiafo, a seasoned business executive and strategist with over two decades of experience in various fields and industries, has been the President/Group CEO of Transcorp Plc for three years now.

She is the first woman to hold this position in the history of the company, and she has made remarkable contributions to its growth and development.

When Owen joined Transcorp in 2018 as the Executive Director of Corporate Services, she was responsible for overseeing human resources, legal, compliance, corporate communications, and stakeholder relations.

She quickly became instrumental in driving the corporate transformation and culture change initiatives that enhanced Transcorp’s performance and reputation.

In 2019, she was appointed as the Managing Director/CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc, the hospitality subsidiary of Transcorp that operates the iconic Transcorp Hilton Abuja and Transcorp Hotels Calabar.

In 2020, Owen assumed her current role as the President/Group CEO of Transcorp Plc. She has since demonstrated her visionary and transformational leadership by driving Transcorp’s strategic objectives and delivering value to its shareholders, customers, employees, and other stakeholders.

Omogiafo’s notable achievements include leading the acquisition of Afam Power Plc and Afam Three Fast Power Limited, increasing Transcorp’s installed capacity to 2,000MW and making it one of the largest power producers in Nigeria.

In a recent interview, Omogiafo credited her mentors and peers who have played important roles in her life for contributing to her success.

“In life, one must always acknowledge and understand the role of the grace of God in everything that is done, and I am no different,” she said.

“Preparedness, hunger for success, and value creation have propelled me to achieve results in my career journey. From reading GMAT and GRE textbooks as we prepared for entry-level exams to executing my role as President of Transcorp Group, I continue to be guided by these. One definition of luck that I love is preparedness meeting opportunity.”

In addition to her business acumen, Owen is a role model for women in leadership and a passionate advocate for youth empowerment and entrepreneurship.

Owen is also a member of several professional bodies and associations and has received numerous awards and recognitions for her outstanding performance and impact in the business world.

As she celebrates her third anniversary as President/Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, we join millions of Nigerians and Africans in congratulating Owen on her remarkable achievements and wishing her continued success in her future endeavours.

Owen is a trailblazer and a visionary leader who is making a positive difference in Transcorp and beyond.
