NNPC Denies Allegations of Adulterated Petrol Sale at Keffi Retail Outlet

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has refuted claims that one of its retail outlets in Keffi sold adulterated petrol to a customer.

In a statement released on social media on Thursday, Olufemi Soneye, NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, clarified that thorough checks were conducted, and the alleged product was not sourced from NNPC.

“We have carried out spot checks at all our outlets and found this claim to be false,” Soneye stated.

He added that NNPC Retail Ltd. strictly adheres to quality standards and does not sell fuel in bottles or jerrycans, as shown in a video circulating online.

“NNPC Retail Ltd. does not deal in adulterated products as it adheres to rigorous standards and quality control measures at every stage in its operations to ensure that only high-quality, safe, and reliable petroleum products are available at its stations nationwide,” Soneye emphasized.

He urged the public to disregard the allegations, attributing them to “selfish and unpatriotic elements” spreading misleading information.

Soneye reaffirmed NNPC’s commitment to quality and safety, noting that the company regularly inspects and calibrates pumps across its stations to ensure consistency and integrity.
