The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has achieved a significant milestone, reaching its 2024 revenue generation target of N5.07 trillion, as announced by Comptroller General Bashir Adeniyi.

The milestone was reached on November 12, 2024, with over a month still remaining in the fiscal year.

Adeniyi disclosed the achievement during the Comptroller General of Customs’ Conference held in Abuja on Wednesday, highlighting the success as a result of strategic planning and enhanced collaboration. According to Adeniyi, the NCS collected precisely N5,079,455,088,194.38 by 13:10 hours on November 12, exceeding initial projections by 10 percent.

“This exceptional performance—projected to exceed our target by 10 percent—validates our partnership-driven approach to revenue collection and trade facilitation,” Adeniyi said, crediting the accomplishment to the Customs Service’s collaborative engagements and modernized systems.

Adeniyi also emphasized that the achievement signifies more than just a financial figure, noting, “The achievement is not merely about numbers; it demonstrates how enhanced stakeholder collaboration, improved processes, and modernised systems can deliver tangible results for our nation’s economy.”
