The Niger State Government has strongly condemned the burning down of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Champion Zonal Headquarters in Kontagora. The incident, which occurred over the weekend, resulted in the looting of valuables and destruction of property.

Governor Mohammed Bago described the attack as a “direct affront to the peace and unity” in the state and assured that the government prioritizes the safety, security, and freedom of religion of all citizens. He directed security agencies to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident, promising that those responsible would be brought to justice.

The Governor urged calm and restraint among the people of Kontagora and Niger State, emphasizing the importance of preserving peace and togetherness. He assured that the government would take necessary measures to protect all houses of worship and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
