Marvel actor Jonathan Majors is at the center of fresh controversy as two women, Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper, have come forward with allegations of physical and emotional abuse against him, shedding light on a pattern of alleged misconduct and volatile behavior.
Duncan and Hooper, who claimed to have dated Majors between 2013 and 2019, accused the actor of abusing and manipulating them during their relationships.
The allegations, reported by the New York Times, include descriptions of Majors’ “history of volatility” and confrontational demeanor on the set of the HBO series “Lovecraft Country.”
According to the report, several female co-workers raised concerns about Majors’ behavior, prompting internal discussions within the company.
Duncan alleged both physical and emotional abuse, while Hooper accused him of emotional abuse, describing Majors as controlling and isolating.
Responding to the allegations, Priya Chaudhry, Majors’ lawyer, acknowledged that the relationships were toxic and hurtful things were said.
However, Chaudhry denied most of the claims of physical abuse and stated that Majors was unaware of the HBO complaint.
The controversy comes after Majors was found guilty of reckless assault and harassment following an incident with his ex-partner Grace Jabbari in March 2023.
The sentencing, initially scheduled for February, has been delayed to April 8 after a recent hearing.
