The first government-owned, ultra-modern laboratory in Nigeria with ISO certification was opened by the Lagos State Government.

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, or LASEPA, provided support for the lab.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, said that the upgraded and re-equipped laboratory will further improve the quality of life for locals.

Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello, declared that with the establishment of the lab, the State Government has achieved another first in its effort to protect the environment, as well as in setting the standard for good governance and the general well-being of state residents.
