The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially set January 15, 2024, as the start date for the registration of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This announcement was made by the head of public affairs at JAMB, Fabian Benjamin, in a statement released on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the registration window for the 2024 UTME will span from January 15 to February 26, giving prospective candidates a six-week period to complete the registration process.
Following the registration phase, the actual UTME is scheduled to take place between March 19 and April 29, 2024.
JAMB has also included an optional mock UTME, which is set to be conducted on March 7, providing candidates with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the examination process.
In addition, the board emphasized that all candidates must print their examination slips starting from April 10, 2024.
This document will contain crucial information, including the candidate’s examination venue and schedule.
Notably, JAMB is gearing up for a significant shift in its examination methodology with the introduction of the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative. Under this initiative, UTME candidates will have the option to use their personal phones and tablet computers to write the exam at the testing center.
Fabian Benjamin urged prospective candidates to prepare for this innovative initiative, stating, “I urge all prospective candidates to start practising with the devices they intend to use in the coming UTME, prior to which a pilot test will be conducted to aid the smooth implementation of the project.”
