The Police Public Relations Officer of Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has issued a clarification regarding the arrest of a DJ, stating that it was DJ Commissioner Wysei, not DJ Switch, who was taken into custody.

This comes after reports emerged suggesting that DJ Switch had been arrested and taken to the magistrate court in Eti Osa over alleged fraud and assault complaints.

In a statement released on Thursday, Hundeyin admitted responsibility for the mix-up that led to misleading reports.

The Lagos Police Spokesman extended apologies to media outlets, including Lindaikeji, BBC, and TVC, for confirming the inaccurate information earlier.

He also issued an apology to DJ Switch for the confusion caused by the mix-up.

“There is a mixup from our end. Arrested person is DJ Commissioner Wysei not DJ Switch.

“Apologies for all inconveniences to a few media outfits like Lindaikeji, BBC and TVC that I gave confirmation this morning.

”Apologies to DJ Switch too,” he said.

Earlier, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, also known as DJ Switch, had refuted reports of her arrest in Lagos.

In a post on X, DJ Switch denounced the false reports, emphasizing that she had not been arrested. She condemned the intention behind spreading such fake news, stating that it aimed to tarnish her image.

“I was woken up by a barrage of calls and texts this morning. I wondered why because I know today is not my birthday. Only to find that I have been arrested,” she wrote in her post.

DJ Switch further warned of legal action against those responsible for spreading the false news, emphasizing her commitment to setting the record straight.
