The final rites for Herbert Wigwe, the former Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings Plc, were solemnly observed on Saturday as he was laid to rest in his hometown of Isiokpo, located in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The late Wigwe, along with his wife Chizoba and son Chizi, tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash near the Nevada border in February.

The funeral service, held in Isiokpo, was attended by a host of dignitaries, reflecting the widespread respect and admiration for the departed souls.

Among those present were Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Also in attendance were prominent figures such as Aliko Dangote, the chairman of the Dangote Group; former governors Peter Obi, James Ibori, and Rotimi Amaechi; former Senate President Bukola Saraki; and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Sanusi Lamido.

The funeral ceremony marked the conclusion of a six-day funeral arrangement for the deceased family, during which their lives and legacies were honored and celebrated.

The tragic loss of Herbert Wigwe, his wife, and son has left a void in the hearts of many, but their memory will continue to live on in the lives they touched and the contributions they made to their communities and beyond.

As the sun set over Isiokpo, the gathered mourners bid farewell to a beloved leader, friend, and family member, finding solace in the cherished memories and enduring legacy of Herbert Wigwe and his loved ones.
