Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has shared a heartwarming story about his wife, Sekinat, who volunteered to donate one of her kidneys to him without him having to ask.
The revelation was made during an interview on the TVC talk show “E Splash” on Friday.
Abdulkareem, who was diagnosed with kidney failure in July 2022, said he was shocked when his wife immediately volunteered to donate her kidney after the doctor informed him that he needed a transplant and that the donor had to be a family member.
He recounted the conversation with the doctor, “So Doctor Bamboye, he did all his checkup and all that. My wife was with me then and he said he hoped I was told I had stage four kidney problem and the doctor said the best thing was for me to do a kidney transplant. I asked him if it’s possible for the hospital to source for donors and he said no, you have to source for your donor yourself and it has to be a family member.”

Abdulkareem went on to say that his wife then asked the doctor, “Can I be the donor for him? The doctor said ‘Yes, you can if you are compatible.’ So she asked ‘How do I know if I am compatible with him?’ The doctor said we have to carry out some tests and she said, ‘When can I start that? Now?’ I was shocked.”
