Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been acquitted on three of the five federal charges brought against him, including two sex trafficking counts and a racketeering conspiracy charge.

However, the jury found him guilty on two counts related to prostitution.

The verdict was delivered on Tuesday, July 2, concluding a high-profile trial that gripped national attention and raised serious allegations against one of the most influential figures in the entertainment industry.

Combs, who faced the possibility of life imprisonment had he been convicted on all charges, was cleared of the most severe accusations:

  • Count 1: Racketeering Conspiracy — Not Guilty
  • Count 2: Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud, or Coercion — Not Guilty
  • Count 3: Transportation to Engage in Prostitution — Guilty
  • Count 4: Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud, or Coercion — Not Guilty
  • Count 5: Transportation to Engage in Prostitution — Guilty

The jury initially returned a partial verdict on Monday, announcing decisions on Counts 2 through 5. After failing to reach a consensus on the first charge — racketeering conspiracy — they reconvened Tuesday morning and, after an additional hour of deliberation, found Combs not guilty on that count as well.

Okay.ng reports that while the acquittals clear Combs of the most damning allegations, the guilty verdicts still carry serious legal consequences.

The charges of transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution could result in significant prison time, although sentencing details have not yet been released.
