Dan Ashworth has stepped down from his position as Sporting Director at Manchester United, the Premier League club announced on Sunday.
Ashworth leaves the club just five months after his appointment, during which he played a pivotal role in United’s summer transfer activities.
In his brief tenure, Ashworth oversaw over £200 million in transfer spending, bringing in key players such as Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui.
United confirmed the development in an official statement: “Dan Ashworth will be leaving his role as Sporting Director of Manchester United by mutual agreement. We would like to thank Dan for his work and support during this transitional period for the club and wish him well for the future.”
