President Muhammadu Buhari recently celebrated the 55th birthday of the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Muhammad Mamman Nami, with warm felicitations.
In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Garba Shehu, President Buhari praised Nami for making commendable efforts to raise government revenues, especially at a time of great need.
The President noted that Nami’s leadership and guidance has repositioned operations and staff of the agency.
He highlighted how technological tools have been utilized to institute more transparency, accountability, and effectiveness, which has translated into increased capacity to deliver on the agency’s mandate with results clearly seen.
President Buhari also commended the Executive Chairman for bringing many years of experience in financial services to bear on the foremost tax regulator, with a growing impact on the economy, especially as the government expands and prioritizes infrastructure development.
Finally, the President prayed for the well-being of Nami and his family.
