Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has officially ended his association with the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant shift in the nation’s political landscape.

In a personally signed statement, Lawal confirmed that he had communicated his resignation to the chairman of the party in Bangshika Ward, Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State. The former SGF emphasized that his exit from the APC is effective immediately.

“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the All Progressives Congress, APC,” Lawal stated. “In due course, I will make public my current political affiliation, where I plan to join compatriots to work towards making Nigeria a better living place for all citizens. This resignation takes immediate effect.”

He concluded his letter by expressing goodwill: “Please remain blessed and extend my warm regards to members of your party.”
