The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that Abdullahi Ganduje remains the party’s national chairman, dismissing the suspension purportedly carried out by some individuals claiming to be members of his ward in Kano.

According to APC spokesperson Felix Morka, the move to suspend Ganduje is deemed “criminal” and lacks legitimacy, emphasizing that Ganduje retains his position as the party’s chairman.

Morka denounced the suspension as a deceptive act orchestrated by impostors posing as ward officials, allegedly affiliated with the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

He clarified that those behind the suspension are not genuine APC members but individuals linked to senior officials of the NNPP, aiming to cause confusion and destabilize Ganduje’s ward chapter.

The party has filed a petition with the Inspector General of Police, urging an expedited investigation into the matter and calling for the perpetrators and their sponsors to be held accountable.

The purported suspension has sparked discussions nationwide, with legal practitioners like Kano-based lawyer Wangida Isa asserting the legal authority of ward executives to remove party members.

Meanwhile, Ganduje is set to face charges in the Kano High Court on Wednesday, including allegations of bribery, diversion, and misappropriation of funds, involving substantial sums of money.
