The All Progressives Congress, APC, has postponed its House of Assembly primary election earlier scheduled to hold nationwide on Monday, 1 December, 2014.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, the opposition party said that the election would now hold nationwide on Tuesday, 2 December, 2014.
The statement, signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
It was disclosed that the postponement was to show respect for those killed or injured in Friday’s terrorist attack in a mosque in Kano.
The statement however, informed that ‘all the dates for other primaries remain unchanged’.
On the bomb blasts that rocked the ancient city of Kano on Friday, the party described the attack as a tragedy, adding that it was a condemnable and totally incomprehensible attack on defenceless citizens in a hallowed place such as a mosque.
The opposition party urged all Nigerians to demonstrate the“Nigerian spirit of compassion and strength of character’’by providing succour and support for one another.
