Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua is poised for an electrifying match against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Matchroom and Queensberry made the announcement on their X account, confirming the bout and hinting at forthcoming details to be unveiled next week.

The statement released by the entities stated, “Confirmed: #anthonyjoshua vs #francis_ngannou is signed to take place during #RiyadhSeason #Fight date and Kick-off press conference details to be released next week! #JoshuaNgannou.”

The much-anticipated fight, with a date yet to be announced, is set to unravel during #RiyadhSeason, with a kick-off press conference scheduled for January 15 in London.

Originally poised for a bout against Deontay Wilder on March 9, Joshua’s focus has now shifted to Ngannou, who ascended in the WBC’s top 10 heavyweight rankings following his debut in the boxing arena.

This impending clash follows Joshua’s commanding victory over Otto Wallin on December 23 and marks Saudi Arabia’s continued hosting of significant heavyweight contests.
