Fuad Kayode Laguda has been declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for the Surulere 1 seat in the House of Representatives.
Laguda is set to replace Femi Gbajabiamila, the former speaker of the house, who represented the Lagos constituency before his appointment as Chief of Staff (CoS) to President Bola Tinubu.
The primary election took place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Saturday, where Laguda emerged victorious, defeating other contestants to clinch the party ticket for the forthcoming by-election in the constituency.
The nationwide by-election into vacant political offices is scheduled for February 3, 2024.
